First MTB competition ride for CBCBC

Yes, it was another first for us to participate in the mountain trial competition. Going for the Gurney Paragon X was quite a dare for all of us. But several of us took the first step to participate at the last meeting. Thanks to Cheam Khai our youngest member, he managed to register a few of us to participate.

The climb to Penang Hill was really difficult with many inexperience riders blocking most of the way, to avoid them, pushing up the bicycle was the only solution for many seasoned participants.

When we reached the turn off to the forest, the ride was simply down hill until we reach the base of Tiger Hill. Along the way, many slipped and crashed due to the wet terrain. As Yeap and I tackled the uphill single track of Tiger Hill, heavy rain set upon us and many riders stopped to put on their rain coats..What??

For us, the rain was a blessing in disguise, we managed to over take many riders who were in front of us. We went in muddy but the rain washed us clean.

Those who made it to the finish line on time were Simon, Yeap, Kok, Khai and I, whereas those retired from the race were Guan, Kwan and KS. Nevertheless, it was a good effort for all team mates and I for one is looking forward for Kayuh Lasak 2012 in December.

We did not take lots of photos during the ride, but here are some for all to share:-
