It was a route new to many of us even though we have heard of a route that cut across Gambir Hill to the other side of the hill of Far Lim for many years but never tried it.
Several of the members have experienced it before and this is a route for intermediate rider but not suitable for newbies.
From Paya Terubong Petronas station, we rode to Bukit Jambul and took Yeap Choy Yee road to get into the entrance of the hill route. The route from there onwards was really rugged and has a lot of loose pebbles along the way to the top.
We also stop at a Chinese temple to enjoy the sea view of Seberang Prai, both bridges can be seen from here. Reaching the top of Gambir Hill was a breeze for all but going down to Far Lim was more technical and steep. Mainly single track, all were very careful descending to the base.
The route master for this ride was Simon Ong. Next week, our member Ah Guan will be next to lead the team to another challenging route.
Here are some photos taken during the ride by the members of CBCBC:-
